I am a full-time DE/EN > HR translator with more than 20 years of experience in various areas, from complex technical translations (civil, mechanical and electronic engineering), marketing/PR, software/IT, tourism and travel, to (published translations of) philosophical and political essays, travelogues, and fiction.
I live in Zagreb, Croatia, where I graduated in Croatian Language and Literature and Comparative Literature at the University of Zagreb. In 2008, I obtained my MA from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, where I spent further 6 years working on my PhD.
From November 2020 to March 2021 I took part in a lifelong education for lawyer linguists at the University of Osijek (Croatia), combined with the Erasmus+ project "Jean Monnet Module: Language and EU Law Excellence (LEULEX)". The goal of this education - that included a number of workshops on CAT tools, EU databases, and conference interpreting, as well as 7 exams in 4 languages (Croatian, English, German and French) - was to venture into yet another specialization: EU law.
Other languages: Italian (B2), Swedish (A2), French (A2).
As for CAT tools, I use SDL Trados 2022 and MemoQ.
