As a Cryptocurrency Operations Analyst, you will collaborate with internal teams, as well as external counterparties and exchanges, and manage the day

Our Client:
Our client is an innovative trading firm with a strong focus on collaboration, cutting-edge technology, data-driven solutions and automation. We specialize in providing liquidity as an options market-maker – meaning we are committed to providing competitive quotes that we are willing to both buy and sell. To do this successfully we design and implement our own low latency technologies, trading strategies and mathematical models.

Our clients founding partners first conceptualized our clients in their hometown of Sydney. They opened the firm’s first office in 2011 in the heart of the derivatives industry and the options capital of the world – Chicago. Today, our client is proud to operate from additional offices in Sydney, Shanghai, and Boston.

What you’ll do as a Cryptocurrency Operations Analyst:
Our client trades cryptocurrencies and their derivatives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Given the nature of this global market, trading is split between our Chicago and Sydney offices. The space is constantly evolving, and we have a global team of Developers and Quants working alongside our Traders to customize and improve our trading engine and strategies.
As a Cryptocurrency Operations Analyst, you will collaborate with internal teams, as well as external counterparties and exchanges, and manage the day-to-day operations of our cryptocurrencies trading business. This is a brand-new role, with plenty of opportunity for growth and ownership, and the ability to refine and improve our operational processes. In this role, you will:

Manage daily crypto trading operations and workflows, including coin transfers, reconciliation and post-trade settlement

Monitor exchange positions and liaise with exchanges

Assist in auditing increasingly complex P&L calculations

Respond to counterparty inquires and requests for statements

Identify and implement process improvements related to our crypto trading operations

Work closely with the Trading, Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams on a daily basis

Utilize basic programming skills to maintain scripts, perform analysis, and automate processes where possible

Collaborate with Trading and Compliance to support the counterparty onboarding process

Provide additional support to the Trading and Finance teams as needed

Qualities that make great candidates:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Prior experience in a middle office, operations, or finance team at a trading firm

Experience with daily and monthly P&L reconciliation and basic accounting knowledge

Exposure to cryptocurrency trading is preferred, but not required

Basic Python programming experience is a plus

Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment and pick up new tasks quickly

Proactive problem-solver capable of identifying issues and generating solutions

Proven ability to work independently and complete tasks and projects autonomously

Excellent analytical skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task are must haves
